History of TRP

Tim has always had an interest in photography and started out taking pictures with his 35mm from the stands at local New Jersey dirt tracks. When Tim and Karen met in 2005, Tim had entered the digital world, but still hadn’t gained access to the coveted “infield”. In 2006, Karen started working for Area Auto Racing News (AARN) doing race night promotions and selling subscriptions at various tracks in NJ, PA, and NY. At the same time, Tim started shooting for AARN on a race by race basis. By the end of the 2006 season, Tim had become a regular photographer for AARN and had made a name for himself. So was born, Tim’s Racing Photos. In 2007, as an official AARN photographer, Tim made the rounds at every race he could get to while Karen planned their September wedding. That off season, Tim was offered the official photographer position with the United Racing Company (URC) as well as an invitation to shoot weekly for the Phoenixville Quarter Midget club. For the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Tim and Karen traveled with URC and attended Phoenixville on a regular basis. Though they loved both organizations, Tim’s “day job” took them to Carlinville, IL in the middle of the 2010 season. Though Tim and Karen had to say goodbye to URC and Phoenixville, it would not be the end of their tenure as dirt racing photographers. They started shooting for the Bunker Hill Quarter Midget club on a weekly basis, while Tim made the rounds to various Midwest dirt shows. In the off-season, Tim and Karen were offered the positions of the official photographers for the Jacksonville Speedway as well as MOWA, the newly formed Midwest Open Wheel Association. Let’s go Racing!
